SLIMBRIDGE DOWSING GROUP REPORTS
Thistledown, Nympsfield. Dowsing and exploring.
Bank holiday Saturday, May 23rd, found Slimbridge Dowsing Group at Thistledown Environmental Centre, near the Nympsfield windmill, on their first field trip of the year. It was a bright if somewhat breezy morning, so we decided to erect a tent for shelter. This proved to be the biggest challenge of the day! Dowsing rods are useful for many things but erecting tents is not included. With a battle against the wind and the instructions, it took six members an hour to erect it.
After a well-deserved coffee break, the rest of the morning was spent doing our own investigations into the energies of the Thistledown stone circle, or walking in the surrounding woodland. The stone circle is not an ancient one, but just the fact that it is there has created interesting energy levels within and around it.
After lunch we were joined by family groups camping at the site, who were probably far better at erecting tents than we were. After an initial chat about dowsing, we supplied them with dowsing rods and encouraged them to try it for themselves. Within a short time, cries of, "It actually works!" and "I can do it!" could be heard. We showed them how healing energy can be applied and then they tried dowsing for underground flowing water. Much encouraged, they moved on to the stone circle to investigate the energies there. As is often the case, the younger family members proved very proficient at dowsing, and declared they would practise when they got home.
